European Report from our roving reporters, the Simic Family.
Filip has played only two FIDE-rated tournaments during his trip to Europe, both of them in Athens (Athens Chess Club: https://www.facebook.com/AthensChessClubgr/). Namely, on Saturday he played Rapid 10’+3″ (score: 4/5) and yesterday, on Sunday, he played Blitz 5’+3’’ (score: 5.5/7). Unfortunately, they do not upload results online. Hopefully, we will learn more about his performance on the 1st of July, when the updated FIDE ratings become available.
Please, find attached two photos from the Athens Chess Club.
He also attended a strong chess club in Belgrade three or four times, where he played Rapid and Blitz as well. He had a good performance (I do not know the details), but those tournaments are not FIDE-rated.

Cannot help but notice the beautiful setting of the Athens Chess Club. Free beer!
They have their own “in-house” coach for people under 2000!
My guess is that they don’t give all their money away in rating prizes.
Looks like they actually spend it on something lasting, like bricks and mortar.
YOU REALLY SHOULD CHECK OUT THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE.
NOW THAT’S A CHESS CLUB!
