UQ Chess Club and Brisbane Chess Club proudly present the 2026 Queensland Rapid Championship, a Chess Association of Queensland event with a guaranteed prize pool of $2,000! The event is FIDE Rapid, ACF Quick and QJ rated.
The venue: The University of Queensland, St Lucia (room TBA)
Date: Sunday 29th November 2026
Number of rounds: 9 (Swiss)
Time control: 10 minutes + 5 second increment
Schedule:
Arrive by 9:30am for check-in
10am–4pm: rounds 1–9, with a lunch break
Prize presentations at the conclusion of play
Entry fees: (all prices exclude TryBooking processing fees)
Early bird (until 11:59pm Saturday 21st November):
Open: $50
Seniors & Students: $40
Standard (after early bird): Open $60, Seniors & Students $45
Titled players (GM, WGM, IM, WIM): Free
