Oceania Zonal 2027 – news from IA Craig Hall

October 23, 2026 by Kerry Corker

5 Federations in both Zonals now so as long as that holds (no withdrawals!), direct titles should be available.

Besides New Zealand and Australia, official players from Guam, Tonga and Palau have entered both, and official players from New Caledonia and Kiribati have also entered the Open. There may be more official players to come as I believe FIDE funding is being sought prior to the formal registrations.
