Final placings for Open and Women’s Olympiad Teams.

Open Team – =48th with 13 points.
Equal with New Zealand, Cuba, Ecuador and Albania etc.

Women’s Team =40th with 13 points.
Equal with Iran, Syria, Panama and Montenegro etc.

It must be remembered that we are a Big Swiss tournament nation.
Pioneering the path away from Teams based sport, which is a multi-billion dollar industry world wide.
Our path forward as a chess nation is clearly entwined with the idea –

“Just keep playing weekenders until you become a GM”

Obviously this plan is working – we are equal with Cuba (who currently have to study by candle light) we are equal with NZ which has about the population of Sydney. We are equal with Albania. Say no more!

So full steam ahead – more weekenders and forget about the economies and jobs that go with Teams events.
Forget all that “Professional Sporting Body” rubbish. More weekenders!
