Please find attached the R4 crosstable of the 2025 RCC Norm Braybrooke Memorial played last night, Wednesday August 6.
Jai Turner remains the outright leader on 4/4 by dispatching an indecisive Rohan Pyne with black on Board 1. Jai is now a full point ahead of the peloton of players on 3/4 including David Pando, James Xia, Greg Orme, David Beaumont and Tom Weber. With 3 rounds to go and playing great chess, Jai will be very hard to catch however it is still too early to call! Another 3 and 15 players follow on 2.5/4 and 2/4 respectively, so the podium positions are still very much up for grabs!

The 2025 Leo Wilkinson Memorial chess weekend tournament will be hosted by RCC on Saturday/Sunday September 27/28 at Rothwell. Please see the flyer attached. This promises to be a fantastic two days of classical chess with players of all standards welcome to participate. Redcliffe Chess Club members can enter for the very generous fee of just $21 ($80 for non-members)! If you’re unable to attend part of the tournament but would still like to play, you can take up to 2 half-point byes for rounds 1 through 4. There are various great prizes on offer! We’re expecting up to 100 players to enter this tournament so we hope to see you there.
