David Beaumont continues to lead the 2025 Viv Greenelsh Memorial with just one round to go this Wednesday night April 16. But with both Rohan Pyne and Nikola Maljkovic just half a point behind, a 3 way tie for first place is still possible!
On Wednesday week, April 23, we will have a $1 for all night with a one night only event, the 2025 Redcliffe Chess Club Lightning Championship played over 8 rounds with just 5 minutes each on the clock, no increment! This is the old fashioned way to play really quick chess and the no increment time control can be scary to play when you are clearly winning the game but have less time than your opponent.
We wish any members travelling to Canberra over Easter for the huge Doeberl Cup all the best of luck. We also wish Tony Weller a fun trip overseas for the next few weeks.
