R3 CROSSTABLE TONY WELLER LEADS WITH 3/3!
Tony Weller now leads the 2025 Viv Greenelsh Memorial all by himself on a perfect score of 3 out of 3 after crushing Mark C Stokes like a bug with the Black pieces in R3!
But the tournament is far from over as top seed David Beaumont is just half a point behind Tony and David will play Tony in R4 this coming Wednesday night April 2 on Board 1.
And that’s not all – another 11 players are just 1 point behind Tony so it’s still anyone’s guess who will actually win it with 3 rounds still to play.
April is a big month for Chess in Australia too – you could play in the 2025 Melbourne International, the 2025 Doeberl Cup in Canberra and the 2025 Sydney International. Good luck to you if you play in 1 or 2 or even all 3!
And another big Queensland Event is ON in early May at Churchie – you can pick a 9 round event starting on Thursday night May 1 OR a 7 round event starting on Friday night May 2! See the Chess Association of Queensland Inc Website under Coming Events to see the full details of these 2 great events. Both will be FIDE, ACF and QJ rated. Check the website NOW: www.caq.org.au
See you on Wednesday night in the F Block of Grace Lutheran for R4 – If you need a bye please text Mark by 7:30pm on Wednesday night.
Cheers Mark C Stokes 0431 419 136
