2026 Nell Van de Graaff Classic
It’s time once again for the Nell Van de Graaff Classic which will be held on the weekend of the 19th and 20th September.
This tournament is till unique in that it has a twist with teams being an added component of the event (and yes players can play those within their team).
Two Divisions:
Open: Open to all adults and juniors
Junior: Open to juniors only with a QJ rating under 1000QJ
Where: William Duncan State School, Cnr Alexander Drive and Explorers Way
Time Controls: 60 minutes + 10 seconds per move
Entry Fee: $100 per player
Schedule:
Round 1: Sat 10.00am
Round 2: Sat 1.00pm
Round 3: Sat 4.00pm
Round 4: Sun 9.00am
Round 5: Sun 12.00pm
Round 6: Sun 3.00pm
Prizes:
1st Place: $1000
2nd Place: $600
3rd Place: $400.00
Rating Groups (3): $250
Junior Prizes: Trophies
Team Prizes (Open): $300/$200/$100
