Redcliffe Chess Club Championship R6 Crosstable Jai now 1st on 5/6 One round to go this Wed night Dec 11.
We have a new sole outright leader now after 6 rounds of the 2024 Redcliffe Chess Club Inc Club Championship in Jai Turner on 5/6! Jai has bounced back from a R1 defeat by Tony Weller to reel off 5 consecutive wins against James ChengYi Xia, Shane McNicholl, Rohan Pyne, Allan Fossey and Austin Hamilton. But Jai still needs to win R7 to make sure of 1st place as Allan Fossey is just half a point behind Jai and another four players, Rohan Pyne, Craig Stewart, Michael D’Arcy and Austin Hamilton, are just 1 point behind.
The race for the Best Junior Trophy is also very close, with Sophia Xu on 3.5/6, James Chengi Yi Xia on 3/6, Nikola Maljkovic on 3/6 and Braeden Levy on 3/6!
There are number of other Rating Group Trophies also to be presented at our AGM, Trophy Presentation, Doubles Chess and Free Pizza Break Up Night on Wednesday week, December 18. So play your best game in R7 on Wednesday night – it just might win you a trophy if you win it! Other trophies for our Tournament winners throughout the whole year will also be presented on Wednesday night December 18. You are invited to bring your own drinks and cakes etc to go with the FREE PIZZAS the Club will buy for everyone.
Please remember the 2024 Christmas Special Week Ender is on this coming weekend Saturday December 14 and Sunday December 15 here at Rothwell. An AGENDA for the 2024 Redcliffe Chess Club AGM on Wednesday night December 18 at 7pm in F Block will be emailed out at the end of this week. If you have any motions you would like place on the AGENDA, please also email them to our Club Secretary Max Kershaw asap! I will be moving that we send our Club Treasurer a $100 Gift Voucher for keeping all our accounts in such good order each and every month.
We have also already sent a $750 thank you donation to Grace Lutheran College Rothwell for the use of F Block for our Wednesday night meetings in 2024 and for the use of F Block and J Block for our Week End Tournament, the QWCL Week End Tournaments and for the CAQ Inc Seniors Tournament. We are so lucky to have such a great venue for our Chess Events.
