After 4 rounds of our current Wednesday night ACF and QJ rated 2024 Mike Dyer Memorial, we have a sole leader, Austin Hamilton, on 4 out of 4! Austin has already defeated Iris Wang, Nikola Maljkovic, Rohan Pyne and Jai Turner but with 3 rounds still to go, anyone could still win. Allan Fossey is also undefeated on 3.5/4, just a half point behind Austin, and they are very likely to play on Board 1 in R5 next Wednesday night October 2 2024 at 7:45pm. Do not forget the 2024 CAQ Inc Queensland Chess Championship for players with an ACF Rating of 1600 or higher is on from Thursday October 3 to Monday October 7, a FIDE, ACF and QJ rated nine round Swiss at the Acacia Ridge Hotel, 1386 Beaudesert Road, Acacia Ridge 4110.
And for players with an ACF rating under 1600 ACF, the 2024 CAQ Inc Queensland Under 1600 Championship is on from Friday October 4 to Monday October 7 and will also be FIDE, ACF and QJ rated. It will be played over seven rounds at the same venue as the 2024 CAQ Inc Queensland Championship.
