Results of Peninsula Open 2024
Congratulations to International Master (IM) Sravan Renjith for winning the 2024 Peninsula Open with a picket-fence 6/6! Sravan collects the $1000 first prize for his efforts which included a tremendous Round 5 win over GM Roland Schmaltz. Callum Gray finished in clear 2nd ($500) on 5.5/6 with a huge upset win over GM Schmaltz in R6. 3rd place ($250) was shared by Kiamehr Baneshi and Ryan Liaw on 5/6. Please note that the Redcliffe Chess Club is closed this coming Wednesday night (June 26) due to interest in the second State of Origin Game. Go QLD! The club will re-open Wednesday July 3 for the start of a new tournament.
