Redcliffe Chess Club Inc’s next Weekender, the 59th Peninsula Open, is not too far away now – it’s on Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23 and 2024 Redcliffe Chess Club Members can play for just $20! It will be ACF and QJ rated and played with 60 minutes on the clock, with 20 seconds added each move from move 1. See the attached entry form.
The following weekend has the 3 Tournaments of the Gold Coast Open on at the Nerang Bicentennial Community Centre, 833 Nerang Southport Rd, Nerang. The 9 round Premier starts on Thursday June 27 and finishes on Monday July 1. You must have a minimum of ACF 1700 or FIDE 1800 to enter the Premier. The 7 round Major, for players U1800 ACF, is on from Friday June 28 to Sunday June 30. The 7 round Minor, for players U1200 ACF, is on from Friday June 28 to Sunday June 30. The 2024 Qld Junior Chess Championships are on from Tuesday July 2 to Friday July 5 at King’s Christian College, Pimpama. There will be many divisions: U8, U12, U14, U16 and U18. There are Trophies, Titles and Cash Prizes for all divisions.
