Another Upcoming Week End Event that’s just a couple of weeks away is the 2024 Wendy Terry Memorial right here at Grace Lutheran College Rothwell on Saturday March 9 and Sunday March 10. Just like the 2024 Qld Reserves/ Tin Cup, it will be FIDE, ACF and QJ rated! By the way, our next fun ONE NIGHT ONLY QUICK CHESS NIGHT is also fast approaching – it is on Wednesday night March 6.  We will play a 7 round Blitz Chess Tournament with 3 minutes each plus 2 seconds a move as the time control. This will be a gold coin entry event – just bring a $2 coin and pay on the night. We are now in a website editor transition period, with Rohan Pyne kindly taking over from the retiring long term Club Website Editor Kerry Corker. We thank Kerry for his years of voluntary service to our Club in so many ways, not just as Website Editor, but as Club Junior Coach, Club Committee Member, as Teams Event Convenor and so much more. Kerry often opened the Club at 6pm and helped close the Club at 11pm and he encouraged so many young players to come along to our Club and this is now obvious to all in the wonderful numbers now coming along on Wednesday nights.
