Only 3 players out of 37 are on a perfect score of 2/2 after R2 of the Summer Swiss was played on Wednesday night January 31:

Michael D’Arcy (1767), Jai Turner (1705) and Nate Young (1611). But another 10 players are breathing down their necks on 1.5/2!

It was great to see 31 players come along to play R2 and we thank Rex Scarf for kindly taking a half point bye so everyone else present got a rated game.

We welcomed 2 brand new players to our Club for R2, Joe Zhu and Olivia Chu and Olivia won her first game at the Club!

On February 24 and February 25, the 2024 Queensland Reserves Chess Championship/ Tin Cup for players under 1700 ACF will be played at the Gold Coast.

On March 8 and March 9, the Wendy Terry Memorial will be played in the F Block and J Block of Grace Lutheran College, Rothwell.

Next Wednesday night February 7 we have our QUICK CHESS NIGHT as it is the first Wednesday night of the month. We will play 8 rounds of LIGHTNING CHESS, where each player gets just 5 minutes on the clock! The entry for this LIGHTNING CHESS TOURNAMENT is just a gold coin, payable on the night OR you can deposit $1 or $2 into our Redcliffe Chess Club Account if you prefer – See details above. Make sure you are at the Club by 7:30pm to be entered into the Lightning Chess Tournament please.
