We have an outright leader of the 2023 Redcliffe Chess Club Championship after the 4th round was completed on Wednesday night December 6 – David Beaumont!
David is on 3.5/4, after beating Max Phillips in a long, hard fought battle.
On 3/4, in equal second place, are Mark C Stokes, Nathanael Young, Daniel Woodrow and Max Windsor.
With lots of prizes up for grabs for all ratings groups, and with lots of Junior Prizes up for grabs too, R5 is certain to be eagerly contested. We have quite valuable Chess Sets for 1st place and for the Best Junior AND we have trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd plus other Ratings Groups and Junior prizes. All prizes will be presented on the last night of the year, Wednesday Dec 20, after the AGM. Tie breaks worked out by the computer program will determine the trophy winners in the case of tied scores. It is a free pizza night and fun chess night so do not miss it! Bring your own drinks or cake on December 20 too if you wish!
