The City of Redcliffe Chess Club Inc AGM will be held at 7:30pm on Wednesday December 20  2023. It will also be a FREE PIZZA NIGHT, CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTATION NIGHT and FUN CHESS NIGHT! Do not miss it!

Nominations are being called for these six positions: President, Treasurer, Secretary, General Committee Person 1,  General Committee Person 2 and Club Website Editor.

PRESIDENT – You need a Blue Card for this position. Blue Card Services administers the blue card system – Queensland’s Working with Children Check. All children in Queensland have a right to be safe and protected from harm. The blue card system regulates activities that are essential to children’s lives. These include childcare, sport, cultural activities and foster care. Blue Card Services check and monitor people who work in these industries and  help organizations to create safe environments for children.

You also need a Blue Card for the position of Treasurer or Secretary.

It would be great if we had at least 6 interested people on our Redcliffe Chess Club Committee in 2024. We meet about every 2-3 months to discuss chess matters related to our Redcliffe Chess Club Inc. For example, in 2023 we introduced Quick Chess to our Club Calendar on the first Wednesday of each month and we decided to FIDE rate our 2023 Club Championship for the first time as a result of discussions at these committee meetings.

        ITEM 5: ELECTION OF OFFICERS

        5.1 ALL POSTIONS declared vacant by the chairperson Mark C Stokes – Interim Chairperson elected to call for nominations for President. Election held if more than one nomination has been received. Once the new President is decided, the newly elected President chairs the rest of the meeting, thanking the Interim Chairperson for his help.
