Qld. Seniors featuring the games of former 4 times Qld. Champion, Colin Morris

In the past Colin teamed up with Alain Pardoen to coach several Qld. Girls to Australian Championship titles.

Former stars such as Colin should be mentoring our current crop of outstanding talent.

Remember, Colin beat Max Fuller and Max placed 3rd in the British Championships.

Max was one of our first trailblazers and played in several Olympiads for Australia.

His was the generation that preceded GMs Rogers and Johansen.

Unfortunately we no longer have the money to pay former stars to mentor our Juniors.

We now have U/1200 rating prizes to hand out instead. Buying friends instead of coaches.

Hmmmm. Nothing could go wrong there.

At least we have one Queenslander left in the National Top 10 Juniors.

————————————————————————————————————–

The link below provides some of Colin’s wins, mainly from Australian Championships in the 1980s. He defeated players such as Trevor Hay, Max Fuller, Chris Depasquale, Phil Viner and John Purdy.

He was Queensland Champion in 1978, 1980, 1985 and 1986.

The three games below are all games from people who were Australian Champion at some time.

Colin defeated all of them.
