Wednesday, August 2nd – RCC Inc. Junior Chess Group 6.00pm to 7.30pm same venue.
RCC Inc. Junior Group starting Wed. 2nd August 2023.
From 6pm to 7.30pm we will be running a Junior Coaching/Playing group at the same venue in the same room at Grace Lutheran, Rothwell. F Block near the pool complex.
For the first two weeks we have visiting CM David Beaumont from Melbourne as guest coach. David is a Candidate Master and has been coaching in the highly competitive Melbourne Junior scene for the last 15 years and has a FIDE rating of 1857.
I will be coaching the younger/beginner section and David will coach the older Juniors. David is used to coaching top level Victorian Juniors so his group will be quite challenging.
First night is free and after that a $5 nightly fee will apply.
You can pay by school term for a reduction if you wish.
$20 per annum Junior Membership of the Chess Association of Qld. Inc. will be required after a few weeks which covers our insurance.
The format will be:
6.00pm – 6.30pm coaching
6.30pm – 7.00pm 3 rounds of a lightning tournament that goes for 2 weeks – 6 rounds in total. QJ rated.
7.00pm – 7.30pm coaching/playing.
New tournament will start every second week.
BRISBANE TRAFFIC – Parents, don’t worry if you are running late. We know that you are currently hacking your way safely through LA type traffic. We will provide an A4 on the lessons themes so you will easily catch up.
We have a big room so parents are welcome to stay and watch.
IT IS BEST IF YOUR CHILD KNOWS THE BASICS OF HOW THE PIECES MOVE.
THAT WAY THE FIRST NIGHT IS NOT SUCH A HUGE LEARNING CURVE.
