Kangaroo News from Tashkent, Asian U/7s

Fresh batch of photos attached.
Day 1 of Asian Schools Championship in Tashkent (in classical chess) has proven difficult for Team Australia with Round 1 losses on Boards 6 and 11 for Kaisar and Aidan, respectively – against Mongolian and Uzbek representatives.

Nonetheless, both have bounced back in Round 2 with Aidan gaining revenge on Uzbekistan by defeating another rep and Kaisar pushing a Sri Lankan opponent into an uncomfortable queen-versus-2 rooks endgame, yet registering a hard-fought loss.

Kaisar and Aidan were excited to finally visit the local entertainment park Tashkentland to let out some steam after a long day of chess – with Kaisar spotting the Kangaroo ride from afar. They will be facing yet another Uzbek and a Kazakh opponent in Round 3 today.
