Congratulations to our three co-winners of the 2023 Summer Swiss that concluded on Wednesday night February 22: Tyson Walker, Daniel Woodrow and Allan Fossey! They all scored 4/5 and they all won their final round game. Tyson defeated Sibar, Daniel defeated Jai and Allan checkmated Mark C Stokes with a winning rook sacrifice.

Thank you to all players who took part in the 2023 Summer Swiss and for all for paying their entry fees too. All players in the Summer Swiss are also 2023 CAQ Members now as well.

Our next Wednesday night event is over 2 Wednesday nights, March 1 and March 8, and is FREE to enter. Each player will get 15 minutes on their clock, with no increment and we plan to play 4 games on each night. R1 is scheduled to start at 7:30pm so please be at the Club before then to be included in the R1 draw. If you need a bye for R1, text me by 7:15pm on Wednesday night please.

Our next ACF rated and QJ rated Wednesday night Club Event starts on Wednesday night March 15 – the Viv Greenelsh Memorial.

The FIDE, ACF and QJ rated Doeberl Cup from April 6-10 in Canberra, with a Premier Division with Grandmasters Hrant Melkumyan, Temur Kuybokarov and Samy Shoker, an U2100 ACF Division, an U1800 ACF Division, an U1500 ACF Division and an U1200 ACF Division, is a great event to play in. Straight after the Doeberl Cup finishes, Canberra is also running the 2023 Oceania Junior and Youth Championships and it is open to all players under 20 on the 1^st of January 2023. This tournament runs from Tuesday April 11 to Saturday April 15 and has 14 different sections from Under 20 to Under 8 in Open and in Girls! Full details can be found at
