Check out TWIC – The Week in Chess by Mark Crowther – World Chess News in a nutshell each week.
Australia needs a version of TWIC where we can keep track of Australian Chess as it happens.
An Australian Chess Bulletin Board.
Which professional Trainer is available to coach your local team?
Which player wants a release from their club?
Not a chat room which only attracts the fringe dwellers.
If you or your club or your state body want to post, pay a small fee. Get an aspiring Aussie Player to be the Editor, paid for by contributors/State/National.
We need a central hub for Australian/OS Chess News.
No blather about second samples rubbish.
What is the current plan to get an Aussie Female Player into this Grand Prix????
Send it to me and I will publish.
To get into an event such as this you need a pathway. Same as the Lopez knight going from b1 to f5.
Every Association in any sport can upon request produce the pathway from first day at the club to representing Australia within about 10 minutes. It will be on paper or on the computer somewhere.
It is the Association’s reason for existence.
And if you think the pathway to getting into the Munich FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2023 is a series of weekenders, you really should retire.
Round Robins, FIDE Rated, International online friendlymatches, world class trainers.
Anything less is just bone lazy.
We have unlimited money and unlimited talent.
But we have no Business/Development Plan.
None at all. And the people with the unlimited money will not come near you without a seeing your Business Plan. They come from the outside Business World, not the chess world. That’s how they got their money in the first place.
And Parents, why is it only our Chess Juniors cannot go on to play for their favourite team!? It is welcomed in every other sport.
Other sports survive/thrive on kids wanting to play for the big teams.
It seems to be working for Soccer, Rugby, AFL, Basketball (endless list with all the successful sports)
