2019 TAL Memorial club tournament.
The 2019 TAL memorial club event was held from Wednesday 27th February through to 3rd April and was conducted over 6 rounds.
23 players players contested this event, with the top seed being IM Brodie McClymont. Brodie’s participation was greatly appreciated by all, as he took the time at the conclusion of each game to discuss the moves and game strategy, as well as suggesting improvements for his opponents. His deep understanding of the opening systems and his willingness to assist our club members does him great credit.
Overall winners were:
1st Brodie McClymont with 6/6.
2nd Tom Maguire 5/6.
=3rd Victor Davidovici and Tim Steggall on 4/6.
Best U1500 was Tim Steggall who has played well above his 1100 rating since joining the club.
Best junior was Adheesha Suraweera on 3/6. Adheesha is showing a mature understanding of the game and shows no fear when playing much higher rated players.
